Songwriters Jody Abernathy and Mark Mundy formed The Internationals in July of 2007. In September of 2007, Jody was one of twelve selected world wide to attend the Jeffrey Steele Songwriters Boot Camp in Nashville, TN.  Soon after that, Nashville songwriter Barbara Cloyed gave the band there first gig of three at the legendary Bluebird Café. The band also had the honor of opening for Jeffrey Steele at 3rd and Lyndsley in Nashville. Since then The Internationals have continued to build momentum and support from both the Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN communities.

Equally inspired by Gram Parsons, The Rolling Stones, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Hall & Oates and ELO, The Internationals are known for a their traditional twist of the country genre, merging excellent musical ability and a keen ear with vivid story-telling. Their first album “Live from Smith’s Olde Bar” documents the band at its finest, performing a rollicking set for a packed house at one of Atlanta’s oldest music venues.

In March of 2009 The Internationals returned from a very successful tour of France. The band is scheduled for a more extensive tour of Europe in spring of 2010.
